Director/owner

Pearl

Pearl began her career as a physiotherapist 14 years ago. In 2012, after quite a few years practicing as a human physio, she decided to broaden her expertise into the equine and canine fields, undertaking a two-year Masters degree at university in the UK. She also completed professional courses in the USA, Holland and Ireland to further expand her knowledge.

In 2018, Pearl founded the Dog Wellness Centre in Gardenvale, Melbourne with a mission to offer a holistic approach to a dog’s wellness based on the highest standards of care to complement the great work of your vet.

Today, the Dog Wellness Centre is the leading canine wellness and prevention centre in Australia.

Senior Associate Physiotherapist

Astrid

Astrid joined The Dog Wellness Centre team in early 2024. She graduated with Honours in Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne in 2009 and brings extensive experience across orthopaedic, neurological and cardiorespiratory physiotherapy settings.

A lifelong animal lover, Astrid was delighted to transition to working exclusively in Canine Physiotherapy. Her clinical interests include post-surgical rehabilitation, senior care and holistic, preventative healthcare across all life stages.

While she enjoys working with every dog who comes through the clinic, she has a particular passion for supporting senior and more sensitive dogs. She creates calm, reassuring experiences that help both dogs and their families feel safe, understood and confidently guided throughout their treatment journey.

Outside of work, Astrid is a proud mother of two daughters and enjoys caring for her young hound-mix, Daisy. She values slow, simple days with her family, especially walking, cooking, reading, and spending time at the beach.

Fran, the Canine Hydrotherapist at The Dog Wellness Centre

Certified Canine Hydrotherapist

Fran

Fran is a certified canine hydrotherapist with a deep commitment to supporting canine health and rehabilitation. She began her career studying Animal Management in the UK, followed by hands-on experience working as a canine security officer before travelling internationally and ultimately settling in Australia.

Her professional path has always centred around working with dogs, and she brings both technical skill and genuine compassion to every hydrotherapy session. Fran is dedicated to creating positive, confidence-building experiences that enhance mobility, strength and overall wellbeing.

Her calm presence and authentic love of dogs make her a valued part of each patient’s rehabilitation journey.

Aoife has been an integral part of The Dog Wellness Centre team for over five years. Originally from Ireland and based in Australia since 2000, she leads our front-of-house experience with warmth, professionalism and meticulous attention to detail.

Overseeing reception and daily clinic flow, Aoife ensures every client and patient is welcomed into our calm, organised and supportive environment. She is often the first point of contact for families and plays a key role in maintaining the seamless, thoughtful experience our clinic is known for.

Outside of work, Aoife enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, their dog (a regular at the clinic), and their cat. A keen swimmer, she swims in the Bay year-round and also enjoys crocheting, reading, and catching up with friends.
